ice cream cones

For over a century, humans have been enjoying ice cream on a cone. Whether it’s a waffle cone, a sugar cone or a wafer cone, what better way to enjoy a double scoop of yout favourite flavour.

Have you ever wondered who invented ice cream cones? Well, ice cream cones were introduced at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair by Ernest Hamwi. Ice cream was so popular at that time that the seller ran out of bowls. Hamwi used to sell Persian waffles. In a kind gesture he started rolling his waffles into cones and started giving it to his neighbour to use as an alternate for bowls. The customers loved the new product and that’s how ice cream cones were born.

Did you know that there are over 1000 different flavours of ice cream in existence? Many people think vanilla was the first ice cream flavour invented since it is the most popular, but that is actually not the case. In the 4th century B.C., the Roman emperor Nero had servants go into the mountains to collect snow that was used to make a frozen dessert flavoured with honey, nuts, and fruit toppings. What is your favourite flavour?
