chocolate cake

Lately I have been learning how to bake cakes. Every week I try to bake a new cake or improve on the cake if it was a failure. This week I baked a chocolate cake. It turned out pretty good. The taste was awesome. The only thing that went wrong was that the top was a little burned, because I accidently over baked it.

The ingredients that I used are;

  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups of granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ unsweetened coco powder
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 ½ cup of butter milk
  • 1 ½ cup of warm water
  •  ½ cup of vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

The method of baking this cake is to

  • Preheat the oven 350’c
  • Mix together flour, sugar, coco powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a stand mixer using a low speed until combined
  • Add eggs, buttermilk, warm water, oil and vanilla extract in to the mixture
  • Beat on medium speed
  • Bake for 30 – 35 minutes
