His Dark Material is a series by Philip Pullman. It is about a girl named Lyra, and a boy named Will. It tells the reader about the war against “God”, and later, a thing called “Dust.” Dust is the creator of angels, and without it, all the main species (humans, mulefa and gallivespians) were just hairless monkeys and grazers. Dust creates imagination, and metacognition. There are millions upon millions of worlds, each one variant to the next (the one exception being the land of the dead). And Dust leaks out of each opening created by the Subtle Knife. Every single main species has a dæmon (had to do a lot of googling to find that specific letter), but some are invisible. There are many species in the main two worlds, and each one has its one characteristics. The series has been adapted into a movie called “The Golden Compass” (based on the first book), and a TV series that is to be released on the 3 of November. I give this book a 4.5 star rating.
